Thailand is one of the most exotic destinations for holidays. Whether you are traveling with your partner, friends, or solo, Thailand would never disappoint you. Even though it’s not too large of a country yet it can take up to at least 2 weeks to fully explore Thailand. There is so much to do and see here that it can be overwhelming planning a trip to Thailand. Well, don’t you worry because I am here to assist you with your travel schedule and make you the perfect travel itinerary for up to two weeks in Thailand.

Have a look at the following travel itinerary and to finally make a solid schedule of your Thailand trip.

Your Arrival Matters..

Before I start the itinerary for Thailand, you have to realize that the city you arrive in will impact your plans(not too much though). If you are getting to Thailand from Asia then you can have several options for your arrival and departure such as Bangkok, Phuket, or Chiang Mai. However, if you are flying from outside of Asia you will be landing in Bangkok only.

This way you can start and end your trip at a particular city if you are flying from Asia but for those who are traveling from outside of Asia, you will have to start and end the itinerary in Bangkok.

Day 1: Bangkok

There are high chances that you will be arriving in Bangkok, so let’s start your journey from here.

Bangkok offers a vibrant culture packed with delicious food, amazing places to visit, and lots of fun activities to do as well. Try out the delicious street food here and see which places you can cover on the day of your arrival.

Day 2: Explore the Market of Bangkok

Since you are in Bangkok, you must visit the popular Bangkok market that you will find packed with amazing things from home decor to clothes, and includes lots of amusing floating markets as well. Do try out the Chinatown section of the market as well as a boat tour on Chao Phraya River.

While you are exploring the Thailand market, make sure to try out the delicious Bangkok street food that includes a huge variety as well.

Day 3: Visit the Bangkok Temples

Vietnam doesn’t disappoint us when it comes to temples. The beautiful temples are a must visit no matter which part of Vietnam you are exploring and this stands true for Bangkok Temples too.

The Wat Arun and Wat Pho temples are incredible to see. Not only they are a sacred place but also possess a beautiful architecture for us to marvel at. Also take a tour of the Grand Palace which will certainly impress you with its beauty and architecture.

Day 4 and 5: Reach Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the second largest city of the country and is also a cultural hub along with various tons of activities to take part in here. This city is a lot calmer than Bangkok and here you can expect a number of beautiful temples, some cultural sites, vibrant nightlife, and lots of wildlife and natural places to explore.

Some of the popular temples here are Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Chedi Liam, Wat Chedi Luang, and Wat Phra Singh. Make sure to explore as many as you can.

You can easily spend two days here exploring the beautiful temples. And then move on to visiting the national parks to see some wildlife. If you have some time then do take some Thai cooking classes and enjoy making delicious cuisines which you must already be a fan of by now!

Day 6: Explore the Doi Inthanon National Park and Elephant Sanctuary

Doi Inthanon National Park is certainly a must visit place. It’s beautiful and features the regional flora and fauna. This national park features some incredible mountains that can be situated at a height from where you will get to see some of the best views of the city. There are beautiful waterfalls that are a sight to behold. You should also visit the famous twin pagoda too.

The Karen hill tribes offer some cultural exploration and you can also purchase handicrafts made by the tribes along with buying tea and coffee from the area.

The elephant sanctuary also provides a unique experience to its visitors, you can spend time with the elephants, feed them, as well as spend some time with nature.

Day 7 and 8: Visit the the Golden Triangle and Leave for Phuket

The golden triangle features the border area of Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. It’s is incredibly beautiful and offers many sights to be explored along with a tour that will take you to the history of the place.

Here, the Wat Rong Khun is a must visit temple that is no less than an architectural marvel. The temple is made from white plaster and shiny glass that looks breathtakingly beautiful.

You should also take a boat tour on the Mekong River. And then visit the house of opium to get to know the dark history of the place.

After that you can take a flight to phuket or find the travel options suitable to your needs and budget.

Day 9: Explore Phuket Old Town and Visit Big Buddha

Phuket Old Town is as charming as you can think and it’s a popular cultural attraction too. One of the popular attractions in Phuket is the big statue of Buddha commonly known as Big Bhudda.

Here, the night market of Patong is quite amazing to explore. You would also like the Samet Nangshe viewpoint. Phuket offers a great Thai cuisine and lots of delicious delicacies that you must try out.

Day 10: Visit Phang Nga National Park

The Phang Nga National Park is certainly one of the main attractions of Phuket as well as of Thailand, so you shouldn’t miss out on it. The place is quite serene and offers amazing views as well.

Visit the popular James Bond Island (yes the movie was shot here) and take part in the water activities like snorkeling, boating, and just chilling at the coastline.

Day 11: Visit Phi Phi Island

Yes, we have saved the best for the last. Most of the people who love beaches come to Phuket just to spend some time in Phi Phi islands. It’s beautiful and has the most serene views with the white sand and clear blue-green water. It will be nice to spend some relaxing time here on the island and trying out the seafood of Thailand.

Day 12: Head Home

Depending on your home destination, you will be flying out either from Phuket or Bangkok. Fly out to Bangkok if you must and catch your flight from there.

It’s a wrap of your itinerary, make sure to visit the incredible places and take home some souvenirs from Thailand.

Finally..

This is a basic two week Thailand itinerary that you should follow to make the most out of your Thailand trip. From seeing the hustle bustle of Bangkok city to seeing the historic and natural beauty of this country, I have tried to cover it all. Feel free to make changes and make this itinerary customized by including any specific places that you may want to see. That will be all and I hope you can now easily plan your dream Thailand trip.
